In a dispatch sent to the People's Committees of provinces and cities nationwide on August 11, the ministry asked for the urgent review and strict implementation of the promulgated regulations on disease prevention and control measures, as well as for strengthened screening and provision of SARS-CoV-2 testing for patients and health care workers with suspected manifestations towards early detection and timely quarantine.
* On the same day, at the working session with the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son suggested that Quang Tri establish local COVID-19 prevention community-based groups to screen for any suspected case, while organising separate isolation zones for them and medical staff in direct contact with infected cases. The ministry will support Quang Tri with equipment to ensure epidemic prevention and control, Son stated.
* Also on August 11, the People's Committee of Da Nang City submitted a document to the Prime Minister for permission to officially establish a field hospital at Tien Son Sports Palace after the installation of the hospital was completed to meet the urgent need for treatment of COVID-19 patients in Da Nang – the current hotbed for the new outbreak in Vietnam.
* On the afternoon of August 11, the Department of Health of Quang Ngai Province announced that Patients 370 and 419, who are being treated at Facility 2 of the Binh Son District Medical Centre, have all had negative results after three tests for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. On the same day, Quang Ngai officially activated a field hospital at the facility with 100 beds.
* On August 11, Hai Phong City received 136 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Japan to and implemented medical isolation on them according to regulations. That morning, Hai Phong started disinfecting the main roads in the city. It is expected that the spraying will continue for 15 days, with a frequency of two to three times a week, on the city’s main roads and public areas.

* On August 11, Nam Dinh Province's isolation base in the town of Goi, Vu Ban District, also admitted 140 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Russia.
* On that day, the Dong Nai Province Health Department announced that all 308 Vietnamese citizens who returned from the Republic of Korea on August 9 and are in quarantine at a local isolation camp have all had negative test results for SARS-CoV-2.
* As many as 1,453 tourists stranded in Da Nang due to social distancing measures being applied in the central city will be flown back to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on August 12-14, announced the city’s Department of Tourism. The tourists will be transported on flights arranged by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget airline Vietjet Air. There will be two flights from Da Nang to Hanoi on August 12 and two more on August 13, carrying a total 828 passengers, including 799 Vietnamese and 29 foreigners. Meanwhile, 625 passengers will be flown to Ho Chi Min City on three flights on August 13 and 14. All of them have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 on August 10.
* On the afternoon of August 11, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases announced that all 19 crew members and the four doctors and nurses on the flight to Equatorial Guinea to repatriate 219 Vietnamese citizens on July 28 have all had negative test results for the coronavirus for the 3rd time. The Hanoi-based hospital, where the flight crew and medical workers are in isolation, will release them as well as all passengers with negative test results at 2 pm today.

* On August 11, the Hanoi authorities and health officials received 50,000 COVID-19 sample collection kits worth VND5 billion (US$214,676) as a gift from the Vietnam Dairy Products JSC (Vinamilk).
* On the evening of August 11, the Ministry of Transport sent an dispatch to the concerned units and localities, urging for the extension of the passenger transport halt from/to Da Nang, starting at 0:00 on August 12.
