Deputy PM attends Ministry of Transport’s patriotic emulation congress

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh attended the Ministry of Transport (MOT)’s patriotic emulation congress in Hanoi on October 19.

At the convention, 15 collectives and 62 individuals were honoured for their outstanding performance in the emulation movements during the 2016-2020 period.

In the four years from 2016 to 2019, the MOT ranked first among the 20 ministries on the online public service index while many individuals and agencies of the MOT have been awarded with various honours, including the Independence Order and the Labour Order.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy PM Binh praised the MOT for its efforts to accelerate the construction of major transport infrastructure projects, with the completion of many expressways, seaports and airports, thus becoming a driver of national socio-economic development.

Such accomplishments have been significantly contributed by the patriotic emulation movements frequently launched across the sector.

On the same day, head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai attended the patriotic emulation congress of the Ministry of Health (MOH).

According to the MOH’s report, patriotic emulation movements in the past five years have made a significant contribution to the goal of enhancing the people’s health.

It is notable that during the fight against Covid-19, health workers have been on the front line, regardless of hardships and dangers, to help the country contain the virus successfully.

Speaking at the convention, Mai, a Politburo member, commended the healthcare sector for its efforts to overcome difficulties and urged health authorities to promptly honour health workers with excellent achievements along with those undertaking onerous duties.

On the occasion, the Party official and congress participants made donations to support those afflicted by the flooding in the central region.
