Various activities held to mark Vietnamese Teachers' Day

A range of activities paying tribute to teachers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, which falls on November 20, have been held across the nation, honouring teachers’ efforts and contributions to the education sector.

As many as 99 young teachers from across the country were honoured at a ceremony held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee in Hanoi on November 19.

The event was attended by Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.

The honourees were selected from a total of 216 candidates to the national outstanding young teachers awards in 2020. Each of whom has overcome all difficulties to make great contributions to the development and innovation of the country’s education and training.

On the same day, Dinh Tien Hoang Primary School in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, held a ceremony to mark its 100th founding anniversary and receive the first-class Independence Order.

The event saw the presence of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

Also on November 19, authorised by the State President, Da Nang University awarded the third-class Labour Order to two collectives and one individual, and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister to three collectives and two individuals.
