Due to the influence of the recent cold winds, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Lang Son provinces have been most affected, with temperatures dropping below zero in several high mountainous areas.

Northern and central provinces from Thanh Hoa to ThuaThien Hue will continue to see the lowest temperatures, between 7-10 degrees Celsius; snow and frost is forecast to appear in northern mountainous provinces.

The waters off the coast of the central and southern regions are forecast to see strong winds with waves of 4-6 metres in height.

The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has asked steering committees for natural disaster response, search and rescue in northern and central localities, and coastal provinces, and the relevant ministries and sectors there to proactively prepare response measures. Focus will be given to implementing safety measures for the elderly, children, and students, and solutions for animals and plants.
