Senior Party official present gifts to workers, poor people in Thai Binh

Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong visited and presented gifts to workers, poor households and those in need of social protection in Thai Binh Province on January 19, ahead of the Lunar New Year.

On behalf of the Party and State, Vuong, permanent member of the Secretariat, handed 100 gifts to workers at a local garment factory, another 400 gifts to poor households in Kien Xuong District and VND10 million to the Thai Binh Social Protection Centre.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Thai Binh People’s Committee also donated VND10 million each to the Thai Binh Social Protection Centre.

Speaking to workers and policy beneficiaries, Vuong affirmed that Vietnam has managed to ride out numerous challenges in the past year and recorded significant achievements in all aspects, including poverty reduction and social security.

The senior Party official praised the initiative of the Tan De Sportswear Company to hold a Tet programme for its workers as well as the efforts of the company and its employees to overcome all difficulties over the past year.

He expressed his hope that the Thai Binh authorities will continue to take care of disadvantaged people in the province so that no one is left behind.
