The delegation, consisting of representatives from the Central Committee for the Health Protection of Officials and the Ministry of Health, visited the main venues hosting the event, as well as inspected medical groups and other venues serving the congress.

Working with the medical staff serving at the event, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien – Head of Central Committee for the Health Protection of Officials, recommended that health workers perform well in their roles and responsibilities at the congress.

Taking care of the health of the delegates is the most important task, in addition to the care for other staff and reporters at the event, she stressed.

Tien also suggested the medical teams arrange equipment, tools and drugs in the easiest way to facilitate the access of delegates, while supplementing other usual essentials.

Also that day, medical information notebooks were distributed to medical staff and other workers serving the congress to help ensure communications and information on healthcare for the event.

Hanoi tightens COVID-19 prevention and control

The Hanoi authorities have determined to coordinate with central agencies to well carry out the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control at the venues for the congress, as well as healthcare for delegates to the event.

During a meeting of the municipal Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Hanoi on January 21, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung requested that departments, agencies, mass organisations and people continue to seriously comply with the Prime Minister and municipal authorities’ instructions on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control.

The vice chairman particularly asked the public security force to closely monitor entries from abroad and punishing illegal immigrants and violators of pandemic prevention and control regulations.

Director of the municipal Health Department Nguyen Khac Hien asked districts, communes and townships to have plans readied in order to respond to emergencies in a timely manner when infections are discovered, preventing their spread in the community.
