Gifts presented to needy people and policy beneficiaries ahead of Tet

More than 7,000 workers participated in a programme held by the Labour Federation of the northern port city of Hai Phong on January 24.

Within the programme, 4,950 Tet gifts worth VND700,000 each and 2,450 gifts worth VND1.2 million each were presented to needy workers in the city.

In addition, the city Labour Federation also presented free bus tickets 1,000 workers who could not afford the fares back to their hometowns for the traditional Lunar New Year holiday (Tet).

Also on January 24, at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Ta An Khuong Dong Commune, Dam Doi District, in the southern province of Ca Mau, the representative office of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper in Can Tho City presented 60 Tet gifts worth VND500,000 each to needy people in the commune.

On the same day, a delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee visited and presented Tet gifts at the Bac Giang Integrated Social Protection Facility located in the northern city of Bac Giang.

On the occasion, the delegation also presented 100 gifts, worth VND1.15 million each, to needy households in Dao My Commune.

The Red Cross Society of the northern province of Thai Binh in coordination with Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup) have donated 500 Tet packages to the poor and Agent Orange victims in Thai Binh City and five districts in the province, namely Tien Hai, Vu Thu, Quynh Phu, Thai Thuy and Kien Xuong.

On January 23, at Phu Cuong Urban Area, Rach Gia City, the southern province of Kien Giang, Phu Cuong Kien Giang E-Commerce Joint Stock Company in coordination with the Rach Gia City People’s Committee, the Kien Giang Study Promotion Association and the Kien Giang Provincial Labour Federation presented 300 Tet gifts to poor people and 300 scholarships to needy students, with a total value of nearly VND400 million.
