The gift packages included more than 2,000 face masks, 200 soaps, 30 flashlights, plus other essentials goods to help the officers and soldiers in the COVID-19 prevention and control.

Chairwoman of the provincial Women’s Association Nguyen Thi Hong Phuc stressed that as the COVID-19 pandemic has seen complicated developments, border guards are playing a vital role in preventing illegal immigrants from crossing the border in the attempt to prevent the pandemic from penetrating.

The women’s association always wholeheartedly support officers and soldiers, who are working at the front line in the fight against COVID-19, she emphasised.

Recently, units stationing along Long An Province’s border line have always been proactive in coordinating with local authorities and functional forces to effectively implement COVID-19 prevention and control measures while strengthening patrols along the borderline to combat illegal entry and exit for the safety of the community.

The units have also successfully implemented communication activities on COVID-19 prevention and control while providing adequate masks, antiseptic hand sanitisers and necessary medical supplies for officers and soldiers.
