In his opening speech, SPC Chief Justice Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasised the need to improve the quality of operations of the SPC in order to fulfil the political tasks and meet the requirements of the new situation.

He asked the People’s Courts at all levels to continue to devise effective measures to improve the activities of the courts and to build a strong contingent of employees, with good professional ethnics and skills.

Importance should also be attached to reforming the effort to renew judicial procedures at courts in order to improve the quality and efficiency of hearings, he noted.

The two-day conference will focus on discussing and commenting on the draft report on the results of the organisation and personnel work of the people’s courts system; and the draft resolution of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court on the leadership, direction, and improvement of the quality of the organisation and the personnel of the People’s Courts.

In addition, the conference also discussed issues related to the construction of the sector, ensuring a foundation for the successful implementation of the guidelines and tasks on the organisation and personnel in a democratic and transparent manner.
