Events held to celebrate end of National Party Congress

Celebrations took place across the nation to round off the 12th National Party Congress.

* The Central Police Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting in Hanoi on January 29 to highlight the success of the 12th National Party Congress.

On behalf of the youth in the police force, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union under the Ministry of Public Security, praised the results of the congress, expressing the force’s commitments to realise the congress’s Resolution, and exerting all efforts to maintain political security and social order and safety.

* An art programme with the theme ‘Firm steps under the Party’s flag’ was held in Hanoi later the same day to celebrate the congress’s end. The programme was co-organised by the General Political Department of the People's Army and the General Political Department of the People's Police.

Popular songs about President Ho Chi Minh, the Party and the two forces’ tradition and victories were performed at the event, highlighting a strong belief in the Party’s leadership and showing solid unity of the People's Army and Police to unite under the leadership of the Party in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

* Ho Chi Minh City hosted a music concert on January 28 highlighting the successful end of the National Congress.

A photo exhibition on the theme of the Lunar New Year and the Party is scheduled on Dong Khoi street from February 2 to 17, while a traditional boat race and cycling area are also planned to take place. In particular, at 8:30pm on February 3, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will organise art performances celebrating the 86th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2016) at the September 23 Park in District 1.

* Yesterday evening, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Hanoi municipal Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to celebrate the successful end of the 12th Party Congress and the 86th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Art performances expressed the gratitude and confidence of the youth to the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, reflecting their determination and solidarity to implementation the congress’s Resolution for national development.

At the event, the organisers honoured ten prominent outstanding youngsters of the capital city with positive achievements in 2015 in six areas, including academic and scientific research; creation and economic development; art; political security and social order and safety; sports; and volunteering for the community.
