Park vows to give AFF Cup trophy to Vietnamese fans

After 90 minutes at Hanoi’s My Dinh, the Vietnamese team beat Malaysia in a tense game to win the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 trophy. At the press conference after the game, coach Park Hang-seo could not hide his joy and happiness.

"I am very happy with the victory and the championship title for the team,” he said. “The players have been trying very hard and gave their best performance in the past two months. I would like to thank the players and the coaching staff for their hard work during the preparations for this tournament.”

The Korean strategist also mentioned the great support from the home fans. “I am very happy to receive the love of the Vietnamese fans as well as Korean supporters. Hopefully after this tournament, the Vietnamese will also love many other Koreans, not only me," Park said emotionally.

He also said he wanted to present the title to all Vietnamese people who have always supported the team.

Regarding the only goal of the match by striker Nguyen Anh Duc, Park praised his efforts and said the goal was the result of the coordination of the whole team.

He also said he was very grateful for the support of Korean fans for the Vietnam team. “They have watched us play from previous tournaments in China, Indonesia and also this tournament. I am also happy to be able to contribute a small part in promoting the good relationship between Vietnam and Korea," said Park.

The 59-year-old strategist said he is very interested in his current job, as it is "the happiest time" when he is living and working with his players.

"The most impressive moment for me was definitely when I lifted the AFF Cup trophy with my players," he affirmed.
