Nguyen Thi Oanh, Quach Thi Lan, Hoang Thi Ngoc and Nguyen Thi Hang blasted an additional gold for Vietnamese athletics by winning the women’s 4x400m relay final with a time of 3:34.64.
It was the third title Oanh secured on Tuesday, after the women’s 3,000m steepleschase and 5,000m triumphs.
Quach Cong Lich, Luong Van Thao, Tran Dinh Son and Tran Nhat Hoang were crowned the winners in the men’s 4x400m relay, clocking a time of 3:08.07.

Huynh Van Tuan defeated his Indonesian opponent 2-1 in the men’s 51kg final to bring home the second gold of the day for Vietnam’s kick-boxing team, following Nguyen Xuan Phuong’s supreme finish in the men’s 57kg earlier.
The Vietnam sports delegation wrapped up a perfect Tuesday by capturing their first-ever gold medal in men’s football, as Park Hang-seo’s side thrashed Indonesia 3-0 in the final to quench Vietnam’s 60-year thirst for the SEA Games title.

In beach handball, Vietnam defeated the Philippines 2-0 to be guaranteed an additional gold medal. Earlier, the Vietnamese team recorded 2-1 and 2-0 victories against Thailand and Singapore, respectively. The clash between Vietnam and Indonesia tomorrow only aims to allow Indonesia to compete for second place overall.
In addition, Vietnam won four bronze medals in basketball (men’s) and kickboxing (men’s 63.5kg, women’s 55kg).
As of 10.30pm today, Vietnam surpassed Thailand to take second place in the SEA Games medal table with 96 golds, 53 behind the Philippines and four clear of third-placed Thailand.
