The event has drawn the participation of nearly 850 martial artists from 64 clubs in 43 provinces, cities and sectors around the country.

The participants are competing for 91 sets of medals in kumite (combat) and kata (demonstration) categories at various age groups, including 10-11, 12-14, 15-17, over 18, and over 35.

This is an important tournament, creating a premise for localities to prepare forces for the National Sports Festival, as well as to promote the training and competition of karatedo.

This year’s event also acts as an opportunity for Phu Yen to promote the image of a friendly and hospitable locality to domestic and international friends.

The 22nd National Karatedo Clubs Championship will run until July 14.
