The three-member Hanoi team, comprising of Nguyen Anh Tu, Tran Tuan Quynh and Phan Huy Hoang, hardly broke a sweat as they crushed the People’s Public Security team 3-0 in their semifinal encounter on September 7.
Petrosetco HCM City also eased into the men’s team final stage following their 3-0 semifinal victory against HCM City on the same day.
The Army team, defending men’s team champions, and Hai Duong constituted the biggest surprises as they bid an early farewell to this year’s championship right from the qualification tournaments as a result of their respective defeats to Petrosetco and Public Security teams.
Regarding the women’s team event, the Army team addressed Tien Giang’s challenge with three consecutive wins yesterday to set up a final clash with the People’s Public Security team, who trounced Petrosetco HCM City 3-1 in another semifinal the same day.
The team event final matches are scheduled for tonight.
