The competition was organised in tandem with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
The contest is open to photographers capturing the beauty of sports competitions during the ongoing Games.
Photos taken during from September 24 through October 15 are eligible for the competition. Each candidate may submit up to ten black-and-white or colour photos. The contest jury will select the best photos between October 16-30. Groups of up to three photographers are also eligible to apply.
The winner will win a cash prize of VND15 million (US$666). Two runners-up will each win VND10 million (US$444). Three third prize winners will each win VND7 million (US$311), while ten consolation prizes totalling VND30 million (US$1,300) will also be awarded.
The best photos will be displayed at a future exhibition in Da Nang, Hanoi or HCM City.
The Asian Beach Games are the biggest beach sporting games in Asia. In the past, the games have drawn the participation of over 7,000 athletes, coaches, officials and referees from 42 countries and territories competing in fourteen sports for 172 medal sets.
The Asian Beach Games opened on September 24 and will close on October 10.
