Olympian Minh, No 1 seed, beat Malaysia’s Lim Chi Wing, No 5 seed, 21-14, 23-21 in the final match.
Earlier, Minh defeated No 10 seed Chen Chun-Wei of Chinese Taipei 21-13, 21-10 in the semi-final.
Vietnam won two more titles in the women’s and men’s doubles, thanks to Vu Thi Trang/Nguyen Thi Sen and Do Tuan Duc/Pham Hong Nam.
The tournament attracted the participation of 189 players from 15 countries. Vietnam sent 61 competitors - their largest-ever contingent of players - to the five-day event.
