The information was released by the organising committee at a press briefing in Hanoi on the morning of October 27.

The annual tournament will feature 38 events, including 18 for men and 18 for women.

Vietnam is to be represented by the most number of participants (56), followed by Singapore (39), Indonesia (36) and Thailand (28). Other participants come from Malaysia, Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), Chinese Taipei and the Republic of Korea.

Vietnam’s shooting legend Hoang Xuan Vinh, who won one gold and one silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil, will be absent from this year’s competition. He will only attend as an Olympic champion in order to inspire young athletes to attain victory.

The 12-day tournament provides an ideal platform for regional shooters to gain experience and sharpen their skills in preparation for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia and other Asian and world competitions in the future.
