Raoua Tlili wins second gold at Tokyo 2020 for her sixth Paralympic title

With two gold medals at Tokyo 2020 in shot put and discus throw F41, the Tunisian athlete now holds six Paralympic titles.

After winning gold in shot put on August 27, Tunisia's Raoua Tlili staked her claim with her second gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games after a world-record breaking throw of 37.91m in the discus F41 event held at the Olympic Stadium on September 1.

Tlili broke the world record after Morocco's Karim Youssra on her first attempt of 35.58m, which was the superseded by Youssra 37.35m. But the Tunisian was not letting up and extended her throw even further on her sixth attempt to achieve a new world record at 37.91m.

With two Tokyo 2020 gold medals, Tlili now holds a total of six Paralympic titles to her name: one from Beijing 2008 (shot put F40), one from London 2012 (shot put F40) and two from Rio 2016 (shot put F41 and discus throw F41).

Oksana Masters powers through to win H5 road race

Oksana Masters has won a second gold medal in as many days after winning the H5 road race at the Fuji International Speedway.

The multiple Paralympic medalist crossed the line in a time of 1:54:00, 1:22 ahead of China’s Sun Bianbian.

Katia Aere of Italy finished third, clocking 1:57:17, with Germany’s seven-time H5 road race world champion Andrea Eskau fourth on 2:12:10.

It was Masters’ tenth Paralympic medal overall after scooping gold in the H4-5 time trial on Tuesday.

Florian Jouanny wins men's H1-2 road race

Florian Jouanny has been crowned Tokyo 2020 champion in the men's H1-2 road race at Fuji International Speedway.

The French cyclist won the Paralympic Games title in one hour 49:36 minutes to collect his first gold medal in his first Games in Tokyo.

The gold is Jouanny’s second medal of the Tokyo 2020 Games.

His first, a bronze, came in the H2 time trial the previous day (August 31) at the Fuji International Speedway.

Jouanny was took the lead on the 53km course at the Fuji Speedway after the third checkpoint (39.6km) and never looked back.

Minyi wins gold medal in W1 archery

China's Chen Minyi wins her second gold medal at the Games after claiming gold in the W1 women's individual. The 30-year-old athlete defeated Czech Republic's Sarka Musilova and won by a wide margin 142-131.

Jennette Jansen wins tenth Paralympic medal

Dutch athlete Jennette Jansen has just won her tenth Paralympic gold as she claimed top podium in H4 Road race, the third medal she won in Para cycling.

The amazing 53-year-old athlete already boasts of six medals in Para athletics and one in wheelchair basketball.

Cycling road winners in men's H1-2 and H5

Two Dutch riders landed on the podium today in the H5 class - the first cycling road that took place this am at 930 (JST). Mitch Valize crossed the finish line at 2:24:30 to clinch gold, whilst teammate Tim de Vries claimed bronze at 2:24:40. In between them is France's Loic Vergnaud who took silver.

In H1-2, European riders made a clean sweep of the podium: French rider Florian Jouanny took gold after clocking in a time of 1:49:36, followed by Italy's Luca Mazzone at 1:53:45, just 4.07 seconds after Jouanny, whilst Spain's Sergio Garrote Munoz clinched bronze less than a minute after Mazzone.

First shooting gold medal of the day

Natascha Hiltrop of Germany won gold during a shootout in the mixed 10m air rifle SH1. She achieved a total score of 253.1 to land her on the top of the podium. This is the first gold medal for the 29-year-old German shooter who came in second place back in Rio in the same event.

Meanwhile Republic of Korea's Park Jinho clinched silver after a total score of 253.0 whilst Ukraine's Iryna Shchetnik came away with bronze.

Dening jumps to a new world record

China's Zhu Dening broke a world record after leaping a 7.31m distance, which secured him a gold medal in the long jump T38 class event. But he isn't the only one going on top of the podium. Teammate Zhong Huanghao leaped to 6.80m to claim silver. Meanwhile Colombia's Jose Greogorio Lemos Rivas snagged a bronze after his 6.53 jump.
