Vietnamese athletes arrive in Japan for World Artistic Gymnastics Championships

Six Vietnamese gymnasts have arrived in Japan’s Kitakyushu City for the upcoming 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships slated for October 18 – 24.

The Vietnamese athletes consist of two females – Do Thi Ngoc Huong and Tran Doan Quynh Nam – and four males – Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Trinh Hai Khang, Van Vi Luong, and Phan Ngoc Hung.

According to results of the draw, the Vietnamese male gymnasts are in Group 6 and will compete in the qualifying singles event against rivals from Turkey, Canada, the UK, the Republic of Korea, and Ireland.

Meanwhile, the women's team will compete against those from the Czech Republic, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Hong Kong (China), Slovakia, and Belarus.

The event gathers more than 300 athletes from over 50 nations and territories.
