Vietnam attends world shuttlecock championship in Italy

The Vietnamese national team is participating in the 8 th World Shuttlecock Championship, which officially opened on September 2 in Rome, Italy.

The event attracted athletes from 12 countries and territories around the world including Austria, India, Poland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, China and Vietnam.

During the first day of the tournament, hosted by the International Shuttlecock Federation (ISF), Vietnamese Vu Tien Hung and Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien bagged the first silver medal in the mixed double.

Vietnamese athletes have also reached final matches of singles, doubles, and team events for both men and women, which are scheduled to take place on September 5.

Vietnam consecutively secured its world No. 1 status in the game at the seven previous events of its kind, including the 7th competition which was held in the country in 2013.
