NDO – Vietnamese tennis star Ly Hoang Nam won the first round of the China F1 Futures tennis tournament on February 17 in Yunnan province, China.

At the match, the 19-year-old Vietnamese player overwhelmed the Chinese rival of the same age, Zhou Sheng Hao, 2-0.

The world’s No.913th showed his strength over the Chinese player, who is ranked 1,181st in the world, right from the start. He scored consecutive points to claim the first set 6-1 after 35 minutes. 

Nam continued to dominate the second set against Zhou Sheng Hao and repeated the same score of 6-1 after 31 minutes.

The Vietnamese player will face young Chinese player Zhong Suhao in the second round.

Earlier, Ly Hoang Nam and Jeson Patrombon from the Philippines were stopped in the first round in the tournament’s doubles category.
