The no. 1 Vietnamese player extended his winning streak at the tournament, thereby winning a berth to the men's singles quarter-finals.

Facing the tournament’s No. 11 seed Satheishtharan, who sits below Minh by 201 spaces in the world rankings, the Vietnamese player demonstrated his superior ability, winning 21-13 and 21-14 in just 35 minutes.

This is Minh’s third consecutive victory at the event. Next he will play Chen Chi Ting from Chinese Taipei.

In regards to the women's competition, No. 1 seed Vu Thi Trang easily beat Piramon Chamnaktan from Thailand with a score of 21-14, 21-11 to progress to the quarter-finals. Trang’s teammates Nguyen Thuy Linh (No. 5 seed) and Le Thu Huyen (No. 8 seed) also won a berth in the quarter-finals.
