Nam and Khanh defeated Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Markus Eriksoon of Sweden 6-4, 6-7, 12-10 in the final which lasted one hour and 40 minutes.

However, Tay Ninh-born Nam lost his men’s singles title after losing to the No. 1 seed, Roman Safiullin of Russia, in the final.

Nam, world No. 481, was defeated by Safiullin, world No. 297, after one hour and 31 minutes with a score of 6-7, 4-6.

With the support of home fans, Nam created many difficulties for the visitor in the first set’s opening minutes, taking the lead to 5-2. However, the Russian rival rebounded strongly to beat Nam 6-7. In the following set, Nam lost his confidence and was defeated 4-6.

After the event, tennis players will enter the Vietnam F5 Futures, scheduled to take place from October 29 to November 4, with total prize money of US$25,000.
