No goals but huge emotion as Leicester honour late owner

Leicester City shared a 0-0 draw with Burnley at the King Power stadium on Saturday when football was again overshadowed by emotional tributes to the club’s late owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

* Atletico Madrid twice came from behind to pull off a thrilling 3-2 win at home to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, completing their comeback with a stoppage-time header from limping captain Diego Godin.

* McLaren and two-times Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will enter next year's Indianapolis 500, the team announced on Saturday. It will be the second time the Spaniard has taken part in the race, which he led in 2017 before retiring with an engine problem.

* The first leg of the Copa Libertadores final between Boca Juniors and River Plate was postponed on Saturday because of torrential rain, the South American Football Confederation said. The game was shifted to 4 p.m. local time on Sunday after a heavy storm lashed Buenos Aires and left large sections of Boca's Bombonera stadium pitch under water.

* A late strike from Jose Holebas earned Watford a 1-1 draw at a rain-soaked Southampton on Saturday and extended the home side's winless run to eight Premier games, increasing the pressure on manager Mark Hughes.

* World doubles number one Katerina Siniakova and veteran Barbora Strycova powered the Czech Republic to the verge of another Fed Cup title in the final against defending champions the United States on Saturday.

* Salomon Rondon netted an impressive brace for Newcastle United as they claimed consecutive wins in the Premier League for the first time since April to move a point clear of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

* Huddersfield Town missed a chance to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone when they were held to a 1-1 home draw by West Ham United in an entertaining clash on Saturday.

* Cardiff City’s Sol Bamba netted a dramatic late goal after a goalmouth scramble as they snatched a 2-1 victory over 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation.

* Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has returned to the La Liga leaders' squad to play Real Betis on Sunday, getting the all-clear from doctors to play three weeks after breaking his arm, but forward Ousmane Dembele was left out.

* Napoli splashed their way to a 2-1 win at Genoa in Serie A on Saturday, defying a pitch made almost unplayable by a torrential downpour early in the second half. Napoli moved into second place with 28 points from 12 games, three behind leaders Juventus who visit AC Milan on Sunday.

* Dutchman Memphis Depay maintained his excellent form in Ligue 1 when he scored two spectacular goals and set up another to help Olympique Lyonnais get an entertaining 4-2 win at bottom team Guingamp on Saturday.
