2018 National Games: Hanoi continues to lead

Hanoi continues to lead the medal tally after the thirdofficial competition day (November 28) of the ongoing 2018 National Games with 48 golds, 48 silvers and 30 bronzes.

The capital city team dominated in badminton with two gold, two silver and three bronze medals on Wednesday.

The competition for 3x3 basketball category also wrapped up with Ho Chi Minh City claiming first position with two gold medals, followed by Can Tho and the Army team.

On the same day, the athletes started the competitions in chess and gymnastics, while continuing to join volleyball matches.

The chess category featured the participation of 177 players from 18 teams, competing in the individual, men’s team and women’s team events for standard, rapid and blitz chess titles.

In addition, 40 athletes from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Army teams competed in 13 gymnastics events.

In volleyball, women from the Army team and Vinh Phuc stunned Thanh Hoa and Hanoi with both scoring 3-0 in their respective matches. Meanwhile, Ninh Binh men’s team beat Long An 3-1.

Earlier on November 27, the Army team surprisingly passed Binh Duong to jump to third position after securing four gold medals in athletics, shooting and diving.

At the end of the competition day on November 28, Ho Chi Minh City claimed the second position with 30 gold, 29 silver and 33 bronze medals, followed by the Army team with ten golds, 14 silvers and 19 bronzes.
