New Zealand complete Women's World Cup soccer lineup

New Zealand became the final team to qualify for the 2019 Women's World Cup in France ahead of next weekend's draw for the 24-team tournament in Paris. The Kiwis booked a place at their fourth successive World Cup by thrashing Fiji 8-0 on Friday to retain the OFC Nations Cup, sealing the qualification spot reserved for Oceania.

* The International Olympic Committee said on Saturday it will form a new committee to advise the executive board on human rights issues within sport, including the requirements for all future Olympic Games host cities. The new advisory committee will be headed by former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Prince Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein of Jordan.

* Former Barcelona forward David Villa announced on Saturday he will be joining Spanish compatriot Andres Iniesta and German World Cup winner Lukas Podolski at J.League club Vissel Kobe next season.

* Football's world governing body FIFA is looking into claims of sexual and physical abuse on the Afghanistan national women's team, it confirmed in a statement on Saturday (Dec 1). The allegations were reported in Britain's Guardian newspaper.

* A 26-year-old Singaporean has been charged with damaging an ambulance during the World Cup season earlier this year, British media reported. Jian Kangyue, along with two Englishmen, were accused of cracking the vehicle's windscreen and making major dents in the bonnet after the World Cup quarter-final match between England and Sweden on Jul 7.

* The AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final between Malaysia and defending champions Thailand remains finely poised after the two sides played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (Dec 1).

* FIFA President Gianni Infantino lamented that "idiots ruined the party" for everyone after the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final was moved to Madrid following fan violence. The match between Buenos Aires arch-rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate was postponed after Boca players were injured when their team bus was attacked by home fans throwing projectiles.

* The troubled Copa Libertadores final between Argentina's two biggest clubs ran into more problems on Saturday when River Plate said they rejected the decision to face Boca Juniors in Madrid in the postponed second leg.

* Chinese snooker players Yu Delu and Cao Yupeng have been handed lengthy bans after being found guilty of match-fixing, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) said on its website on Saturday.

* Italian Serie B leaders Palermo have been sold to an unnamed London-based company for the symbolic price of 10 euros (£8.9), club owner Maurizio Zamparini said on Saturday. The charismatic Zamparini has been president of the club since 2002 and has employed more than 40 coaches during that time.
