Indonesia submits bid to IOC for hosting 2032 Olympics

Indonesia has submitted a proposal to host the 2032 Olympics to the International Olympics Committee (IOC) after successfully holding the Asian Games last year.

That would lead Indonesia to compete with India and joint efforts by the Korea Republic and the DPR Korea to win the opportunity.

* Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane is close to a comeback from his ankle injury and could even play some part in his side's Premier League game away to Burnley this coming weekend.

* Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira did not travel with his side to their Champions League last-16 first leg at Atletico Madrid because medical tests revealed he had an irregular heartbeat, the Serie A leaders said on Tuesday.

* New recruit Charles Leclerc kept Ferrari on top of the timesheets, and did more laps than any other driver, on the second day of Formula One's pre-season testing in Spain on Tuesday. After team mate Sebastian Vettel led the way on Monday with the fastest time and most laps, Kimi Raikkonen's 21-year-old replacement slotted in seamlessly with a time not far off the German's best.

* A major avalanche buried skiers on a busy slope of the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana on Tuesday, injuring four people including one whose life is in danger, but there are no known fatalities so far, officials said.

* Portuguese league leaders Porto have been fined 50,000 Swiss francs (US$49,000) and warned by FIFA for breaches related to third-party player ownership, global soccer's governing body said on Tuesday. FIFA, which prohibits clubs from entering into contracts that enable third parties to have an influence on the club's independence and policies in transfer-related matters, gave no detail of the offences.

* The Spanish Super Cup will be expanded to four teams, with two semi finals and a final all to be played outside the country under a transformation proposed by Spanish Football Federation President Luis Rubiales on Tuesday. The revamped Super Cup is set to start in August of this year, with the winners and runners up of both La Liga and the Copa del Rey qualifying under the new format, Rubiales said.
