Solskjaer has no doubts De Gea will return to form

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says David de Gea has the strength of character to rebound from a slew of mistakes in recent weeks and has no intention of dropping the goalkeeper for the final two games of the season.

* Borussia Dortmund's fading Bundesliga title hopes suffered another setback on Monday when captain Marco Reus was banned for two matches and Marius Wolf for three following their red cards in Saturday's 4-2 home defeat by Schalke 04.

* Fabio Cannavaro has said he is standing down as interim coach of the Chinese national team and will instead focus on his role at the helm of Guangzhou Evergrande.

* Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling was voted Footballer of the Year in the annual vote of members of the Football Writers' Association.

* The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed Romanian Doru Isac as its new technical director. Isac, who has nearly three decades of experience in various coaching roles in several countries, last worked as the sporting director of three-times J-league Champions Yokohama Marinos FC.

* The Spanish FA (RFEF) approved changes to the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup formats for the 2019-20 season and beyond, in a meeting on Monday. The Copa del Rey switches to a single match format, with the exception of the semi-finals, which remain a two-leg tie.

* Manchester United defender Eric Bailly will miss the final two Premier League games of the season and the Africa Cup of Nations after suffering a knee injury against Chelsea, the club confirmed on Monday.

* Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks has had surgery on a groin injury that is likely to rule him out for the rest of the season.

* Arsenal's Spanish loanee Denis Suarez said on Monday he will miss the rest of the season after suffering a groin injury.
