Vietnamese cyclist wins Tour of Zhoushan Island I 2019 in China

Vietnam’s no. 1 female cyclist Nguyen Thi That was crowned the fastest at the Tour of Zhoushan Island I 2019 in Zhejiang, China, on May 21, clocking a time of two hours and 15 minutes.

The Tour of Zhoushan Island I is a tournament of code 1.2 under the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) competition system, featuring a solo stage of 85.35 kilometres with many steep hills.

Nguyen Thi That produced a strong sprint to beat Arianna Fidanza and Lisa Morzenti of Italy’s Eurotarget - Bianchi - Vittoria club, who finished second and third, respectively.

The Vietnamese team win the overall team championship title.

In addition to That’s victory, her other teammates achieved a good ranking, thus helping Vietnam to claim the overall team title.

Today (May 22), the Vietnamese team will compete in the Tour of Zhoushan Island II (2.2) with only one stage stretching 83.7 kilometres.
