Vietnamese tennis eyes promotion to Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II

Vietnam will send its most prominent tennis players to compete in the upcoming 2019 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III tournament in Singapore, with an ultimate goal of gaining promotion to Group II next year.

The competition, which will run from June 26-29, will see the participation of eight teams, including Vietnam (world no. 66), Iran (world no. 72), Kuwait (world no. 73), Sri Lanka (world no. 87), Syria (world no. 92), Malaysia (world no. 96) and Singapore (world no. 100).

The teams will be drawn into two pools – Pool A and Pool B – on June 25, competing in a round-robin format. There will be a maximum of three teams to be promoted to Group II in 2020, while two losing teams will be relegated to Group IV.

Vietnam will be represented by four leading players, namely Ly Hoang Nam, Trinh Linh Giang, Le Quoc Khanh and Pham Minh Tuan.
