The participating teams come from Australia, China, Hong Kong (China), India, Kazakhstan, Macau (China), Maldives, New Zealand, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the host Vietnam.

The championships will take place at two venues, including the Cultural, Information and Sports Centre of Gia Lam district, and Tay Ho district Sports Complex.

The teams will compete in a round robin tournament in four groups and the winning teams will advance to the knockout round. Hosts Vietnam have been drawn in Group A, alongside New Zealand and Maldives.

According to Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director of General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the championships, which features talented invitees, provides a good opportunity for players to improve their skills while contributing to strengthening cooperation, friendship and solidarity among volleyball federations.

It will also help Vietnamese players gain invaluable experience before competing at the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 30), which will take place in the Philippines later this year.
