20,000 Barca fans turn out to greet new signing De Jong

New Barcelona signing Frenkie de Jong was greeted by 20,000 supporters as he took his first steps on the Nou Camp pitch at his unveiling on Friday, six months after agreeing a 75-million-euro move from Ajax Amsterdam to the La Liga champions.

* Noah Lyles of the United States became the fourth fastest 200 metres runner ever when he roared to victory in 19.50 seconds at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting on Friday.

* Atletico Madrid have ordered Antoine Griezmann to report for pre-season training despite him declaring two months ago he was leaving the club, as they accused the France striker of showing them a lack of respect for negotiating a move to Barcelona.

* An electric Volkswagen has smashed a hillclimb record set by a McLaren Formula One car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 20 years ago. With two-times Le Mans 24 Hours winner Romain Dumas at the wheel, the Volkswagen ID.R sportscar clocked 41.18 seconds, breaking the previous best of 41.6 seconds clocked by German ex-Formula One driver Nick Heidfeld in 1999 in the previous year's McLaren MP4/13.

* Manchester United's Paul Pogba is ready to leave the Premier League side in the summer with a transfer "in the process", the French midfielder's agent Mino Raiola told the Times newspaper.

* French midfielder Samir Nasri will join up with former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany after signing for Anderlecht, the Belgian side announced on Friday. The 32-year-old, who was a free agent after his contract with West Ham expired last week, has signed a one-year deal with the option of a second season.

* Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon has joined Sevilla on loan until the end of next season, the clubs announced on Friday.

* FIFA President Gianni Infantino wants to expand the women's World Cup to 32 teams from 24 for the next edition in 2023 along with doubling the prize money to US$60 million, he said on Friday. Ahead of the women's World Cup final on Sunday between holders the United States and the Netherlands, Infantino said he would take his proposals to the FIFA council and member associations for approval.

* Formula E founder Alejandro Agag is ready to take electric racing to extremes with the launch on Friday of a rugged SUV prototype that will compete in some of the most remote and ravaged parts of the planet.
