* Mexico City signed a deal on Thursday (Aug 8) with the International Motoring Federation (FIA) to continue hosting a Formula One race through 2022, after months of uncertainty about the future of the Mexican Grand Prix.

* Arsenal have signed Brazilian centre back David Luiz from London rivals Chelsea, the Premier League clubs said on Thursday. The details were not disclosed but British media reported the transfer fee was approximately eight million pounds ($9.7 million) and the 32-year-old had signed a two-year contract.
* New Zealander Brendon Hartley will join a cast of other ex-Formula One drivers in the all-electric Formula E championship after signing with the Geox Dragon team for season six starting in November.
