The champions received the cup, medals and a cash prize of US$10,000.

Earlier, in the third-place playoff, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) thrashed China’s Fujian Club 3-0.

Following the final game on August 10, the organisers also presented personal titles to individual players, with the Most Valuable Player prize awarded to Yanagita Mizuki of NEC Red Rockets.

This year’s tournament was held in the central province of Quang Ninh from August 3-10 with the participation of seven teams, which were divided into two groups.

Group A consisted of Vietnam, Altay (Kazakhstan) and Chinese Taipei while Group B comprised of NEC Red Rockets (Japan), Fujian (China), the DPRK and Australia.

The first VTV Cup tournament was held in 2004. Vietnam and Japan have both won the cup 5 times during the tournament’s 16-year history.
