In the men’s singles title decider on Saturday, Vietnamese-American Thai-Son Kwiatkowski earned an easy 6-3, 6-1 win over promising young local player Nguyen Van Phuong to be crowned champion.

With the absence of Vietnam’s No. 1 player, Ly Hoang Nam, the final of the men's singles was expected to be a clash between No. 2 seed Phuong (Hai Dang Club) and Thai-Son (Hung Thinh - HCM City), who was the top seed at the tournament and is currently ranked 197th on the ATP rankings.

18-year-old Phuong could only hold off his senior in the first minutes in set 1, before 1995-born Thai-Son powered on to win 6-3. The second set was much easier as Phuong only won a game, before losing 6-1 to the ATP ranked player.

A day earlier, Thai-Son, coupled with teammate Le Quoc Khanh, also won the men's doubles title, beating teammate duo Do Minh Quan/Pham Minh Tuan 6-4, 7-5.

Also on Saturday, the No. 1 seed duo Do Minh Quan/Dao Minh Trang from Hung Thinh - HCM City club easily defeated their opponents Le Trung Tinh/Nguyen Tu Kim Ngan from the army team 6-1, 6-2 to win the mix doubles title.

In the women's singles, the 1990-born Alizé still proved too strong as she easily won 6-0, 6-1 against teammate Tran Thuy Thanh Truc to crown the championship.
