2019 National junior tennis championships open in Nghe An

The 2019 National Junior Tennis Championships - VTF Junior Tour 4 opened in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, on November 2, attracting over 200 young outstanding players across the nation.

Held by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An Province and the Nghe An Tennis Federation, the tournament is the last one to be held under the national youth tennis tournament system in 2019.

Speaking at the opening, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Head of Nghe An Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and also the deputy head of the organising board, affirmed that the tournament is of great significance in encouraging the ever-growing tennis movement, creating good conditions for young players to improve professional qualifications, and introducing the Nghe An culture.

There are a total of 205 players from 14 units across the country participating in the tournament, competing across 14 events, in both singles and doubles categories.

With the presence of young outstanding Vietnamese tennis players like Tat Thai Nguyen (Hung Thinh Ho Chi Minh City), Pham Tuan Long (Da Nang), Bui Hoang Anh (Hanoi), Tran Thuy Thanh Truc (Hung Thinh Ho Chi Minh City), Pham Hoang Hieu (Da Nang), Ngo Bao Ngan (Da Nang) or Nguyen Thi Mai Linh (Hanoi), the tournament promises to bring to the audience competitive matches with high professional quality.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the players entered the qualifying round for several contents. Da Nang overwhelmed the first day of the tournament with four wins across different age categories.

The semi-finals will take place on November 7 and 8, while the finals and the closing ceremony are set for November 9.
