“Tien Linh is an important player. I always trust him. However, the upcoming matches will be much tougher, and I hope Tien Linh will retain his form and score more goals,” Park told reporters after the Thursday game at the Binan Football Stadium.

Overall, Vietnam U22s had a successful match against the Laos side. In addition to clinching a wide-margin win, the coaching staff conducted some tests in terms of lineup, playstyle and flexible conversion of the tactical diagram to serve in the tougher matches ahead.

“This is the second victory of Vietnam U22s in Group B, and I would like to congratulate the players on their utmost efforts to accomplish the set goal. We only have two days to prepare for the Indonesia match. This is a very crucial game, so I need to make careful calculations,” the Republic of Korea tactician stated.

Despite his satisfaction with the triumph, Park said he was still not content with the solitary goal conceded by his side.

“We had practised thoroughly with similar situations, but I do not know why the players still committed the mistake. We will need to seriously consider and draw experience,” he said.

Head coach of Laos U22s Sundramoorthy addresses the press conference.

For his part, head coach of Laos U22s Sundramoorthy admitted it was a difficult match for his side, while praising the impressive showing of Vietnamese forward Tien Linh.

“I know this is an extremely tough game, as Vietnam are a strong team with quality players. However, the early goal forced us to change our plan. The no. 22 striker of Vietnam U22s (Tien Linh) played well. He is still young and has a promising future. I think the victory was quite well-deserved for Vietnam.”

As planned, Vietnam U22s will return to training on this morning (November 29) to prepare for their next group match against Indonesia, slated for 7pm on December 1 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
