Khanh’s performance featured many difficult aerial acts, which earned him the highest score of 9.65, 0.02 points clear of the second-placed martial artist.
It was Khanh’s second individual medal in this year’s SEA Games, following his silver in the Taolu Nandao/Nangun Combine discipline earlier on December 1.
Together with Khanh’s success, Vietnamese wushu also saw a silver medal won by Tran Thi Minh Huyen in the women’s Taolu Tajijian event and a bronze by Tran Xuan Hiep in the men’s Taolu Daoshu/Gunshu Combine category.
Weightlifter Hoang Thi Duyen claimed Vietnam’s second gold for Tuesday with a total of 210kg – 95kg in snatch and 115kg in clean & jerk – in the women’s 59kg category, beating the Philippine runner-up Margaret Colonia by 21kg.

Duyen’s title was the third to be secured by Vietnam’s weightlifting team in the Philippines, following the previous triumphs of Lai Gia Thanh (men’s 55kg) and Vuong Thi Huyen (women’s 45kg).
As of 11am today, Vietnam continue to rank second in the medal tally with 17 golds, 21 silvers and 17 bronzes, 22 golds behind the Philippines and seven ahead of Malaysia.
