More than 3,000 athletes attend Vietnam Trail Marathon in Moc Chau

Vietnam Trail Marathon kicked off in Moc Chau district, Son La province, on January 11 with the participation of more than 3,000 athletes from 42 countries and territories across the world.

Athletes competed in the four distance categories of 10km, 21km, 42km and 70km.

The competition is the third race in the Vietnam Trail Series held by Topas, the organisers of Vietnam Mountain Marathon and Vietnam Jungle Marathon.

This race provided athletes with a great experience of the spectacular natural beauty of Moc Chau, which is well-known for hills with white peach and plum blossoms and tea plantations.

Athlete Tran Duy Quang from Da Nang won the 70km race distance with a time of 7 hours and 6 minutes, breaking his previous record set at the first race held in Moc Chau in 2019.

Female athlete Nguyen Thi Duong also seized the first prize in the 70km race distance with a time of 10 hours and 33 minutes.

The organisers also presented first, second and third prizes to athletes in the remaining distances.

The organisers donated over VND920 million (US$39,799) for charity activities, including over VND460 million presented to Moc Chau district to care for the poor.
