* Tottenham Hotspur rode their luck to reach the FA Cup fifth round as Son Heung-min's late penalty sealed a 3-2 victory in a rip-roaring replay against Southampton on Wednesday. Son's conversion was his 11th goal in the FA Cup since the start of the 2016-17 season – more than any other player.
* Goals by Dimitri Payet and Nemanja Radonjic helped Olympique de Marseille beat St Etienne 2-0 on Wednesday to move six points clear in second place in Ligue 1. Payet netted after seven minutes and Radonjic doubled the lead late on to put Marseille on 46 points from 23 games, a distant 12 behind leaders Paris St Germain but with a healthy advantage over third-placed Stade Rennais.
* Spanish second division side Mirandes pulled off their third consecutive upset in the Copa del Rey this season by beating La Liga club Villarreal 4-2 at home on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals. Mirandes also knocked out Sevilla and Celta Vigo in the previous two rounds.
* Lazio stretched their unbeaten run in Serie A to a club record 17 games but missed out on second spot in a frustrating 0-0 home draw against Verona on Wednesday. * Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus has suffered a muscle injury that will sideline the attacking midfielder for at least four weeks, the Bundesliga club said on Wednesday. Reus, 30, sustained the injury in the dying minutes of their 3-2 defeat by Werder Bremen in the last 16 of the German Cup on Tuesday.

* Nigerian striker and boyhood Manchester United fan Odion Ighalo has said he agreed to take a pay cut to ensure his move to the Premier League club went through on transfer deadline day. United made a surprise swoop for Ighalo before the window shut on Jan. 31, signing the 30-year-old on loan until the end of the season from Shanghai Shenhua after failing to land their prime January target, Norwegian Erling Haaland.
* Shanghai sports authorities have recommended the suspension of all sporting events in the city due to the coronavirus outbreak, casting further doubt on whether the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix will take place. The fourth grand prix of the season is scheduled for April 19 in Shanghai.
* Australia captain Sam Kerr says she is still trying to shrug off a quadriceps injury and is unlikely to feature in all of their Olympic women's soccer qualifiers in Sydney over the next week. * Struggling Serie A club Brescia have sacked Eugenio Corini as coach for the second time this season, three days after expressing their "full confidence" in his leadership. Corini was fired for the first time on Nov. 4 but rehired one month later after Brescia lost all three matches under his replacement Fabio Grosso without scoring a goal. They won their first two games following Corini's return but have lost five and drawn two of the subsequent seven, leaving them level on points at the bottom of the table with SPAL.
* Four-time Olympic champion Mo Farah has withdrawn from next month's Big Half race in London after sustaining a minor Achilles injury in training, organisers said on Wednesday. Farah, who has won the previous two editions of the half marathon event, was set to go head-to-head with Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele - the second-fastest marathon runner of all-time - at this year's race on Mar 1.
* The Spanish Football Federation confirmed on Wednesday that the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville will host the final of this season's Copa del Rey on April 18 and subsequent finals until 2023. The 57,000 capacity stadium was built in 1999 as part of a possible bid by the city to host the Olympic Games and hosted that year's World Athletics Championships.
* An own goal from goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow and a goal from Lucas Alario were enough for Bayer Leverkusen to edge second division side Stuttgart 2-1 at the round of the last 16 in the German Cup on Wednesday.
