Hoang Anh Gia Lai dominate V.League 1’s monthly awards for April 2021

Ahead of their Round 11 trip to Thanh Hoa FC, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) have received a strong psychological boost as they claimed a poker of V.League 1’s monthly prizes for April 2021.

Specifically, HAGL won the Club of the Month award for the second consecutive time after an amazing collection of four straight wins against Hai Phong FC (2-0), SHB Da Nang (2-0), Nam Dinh FC (4-3) and Hanoi FC (1-0) has allowed them to further solidify their grip on top of the standings with a three-point lead.

Alongside the collective prize, HAGL have also dominated the individual categories.

Thai tactician Kiatisuk Senamuang, who stands behind HAGL’s exceptional results, was again voted as the Manager of the Month. Under his dynasty, the team have been showing significant progress and brilliant form in the nation’s top-tier league.

Meanwhile, HAGL forward Nguyen Van Toan continued to be named the best player of April. He is now joining Teofilo Soares Eydison (Quang Ninh Coal), Oussou Konan (Nam Dinh FC) and Nguyen Tien Linh (Becamex Binh Duong) to lead the V.League 1’s scoring chart with six goals for each.

In addition, HAGL midfielder Luong Xuan Truong claimed the “Best Goal” prize with a beautiful curler toward the top left corner from about 25 metres in their Round 10 home clash against former champions Hanoi FC on April 18.

This is a well-deserved award for Xuan Truong as his goal helped HAGL edge past Hanoi FC 1-0, thus putting an end to their eight-game winless run against the capital’s representatives (four draws and four losses). Moreover, the victory has made Kiatisuk’s side the first team to be guaranteed a place in the first phase’s top six who will compete for the title in the second phase.

All the prizes for April 2021 will be presented to HAGL recipients during their Round 12 home clash with Becamex Binh Duong on May 2.

Earlier, HAGL also scored a hat-trick of awards for January and March, including the “Best Club”, “Best Player” and “Best Manager”.
