To enable the coaching staff of the two teams to assess forces and test tactics, the match imposed no limit on the number of substitutes with a maximum of three substitution opportunities.
On the Vietnamese side, Park divided his players into two different squads, with each playing in a half.

In the second half, Vietnamese goalkeeper Van Toan brilliantly saved a penalty to keep the final score of the match at 1-1.
After the Jordan friendly, Park Hang-seo will rest all the players for a whole day. As planned, the national team will be back to training on June 2.
Vietnam are currently leading Group G with 11 points from three wins and two draws, two clear of second-placed Malaysia and three above Thailand. The UAE are now in fourth on six points from four games, while Indonesia are standing at bottom with zero points.
The remaining three matchdays of Group G will see Vietnam play Indonesia, Malaysia and the UAE on June 7, 11 and 15, respectively.
