Accordingly, Chien has leveled up to 6th in the world in three-cushion billiard, following Frédéric Caudron of Belgium (448 points), Dick Jaspers of the Netherlands, Eddy Merckx of Belgium, Marco Zanetti of Italy and Semih Sayginer of Turkey. On UMB’s updated scoreboard, Chien has 254 points.

Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, another cueist of Vietnam, also rose from 16th to 9th, putting both him and Chien in the world top 10.

In this year’s tournament held in the Republic of Korea, Nguyen made it to the quarter-finals with 26 points, while he achieved just 8 points after being disqualified in the knock-out stages last year.

Other Vietnamese players, like Ngo Dinh Nai and Ma Minh Cam, remain unchanged in the rankings.

After the World Cup tournament in the Republic of Korea, players will now prepare for the last tournament of the year in Hurngdaha, Egypt, held from December 2 to 9.
