Viet Bac's cultural potential promoted in Hanoi

Hanoi and six provinces in Viet Bac (northern Vietnam) region organise a ceremony to open the culture and tourism week, at the Ly Thai To flower garden area, on April 16.

The event is a part of the “Crossing the Heritage Lands of the Viet Bac Region” programme held annually to promote cooperation in cultural tourism development between Hanoi city and six provinces of the Viet Bac region, including Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, and Lang Son.

The event was attended by members of the Party Central Committee: Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang; Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi Chu Ngoc Anh; and Secretary of Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee Dang Quoc Khanh.

This year's event will take place from April 15 to 17 at the Ly Thai To flower garden and some areas of Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Space.

The event features booths honouring and promoting the diverse and unique cultural colours of provinces in the Viet Bac region in the octagonal house area; booths introducing the typical heritage destination model of the provinces and cities at Dinh Tien Hoang Street; exhibitions showcasing paintings and photos on the culture and tourism of Viet Bac provinces in the area of Ly Thai To monument-flower garden; a photo exhibition of unique landscapes of the Viet Bac heritage regions.

In addition to typical cultural products, the public and visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy specialities and experience the folk songs and dances of the people of Viet Bac province.

On the side of Hanoi, the host participated in the culture and tourism week in six provinces of Viet Bac and Hanoi with activities such as: organising the exhibition of paintings, photos, and models of the capital's history and culture; participating in a joint art performance programme at the main stage on the evenings of April 15 and 16.

In 2022, Ha Giang is also the event's co-chair. Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son affirmed that this is the first event organised outside the Viet Bac region by the Viet Bac region's provinces; the event aims to improve the effectiveness of promoting the potential strengths of the Viet Bac region.
