NDO – The 2022 Hanoi Culinary and Craft Villages Festival officially opened on Le Quang Dao Street, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, on May 20, as part of activities to respond to the 31st Southeast Asia Games (SEA Games 31).

The festival was divided into six sections with different themes. Specifically, the area for traditional and modern culinary culture of Hanoi provided various specialties of the capital city including pho (noodle soup), cha ca (grilled fish), banh te Son Tay (Son Tay rice cake), Phu Thuong sticky rice, Tay Ho (West Lake) lotus tea, egg coffee, and Uoc Le pork pie.

Visitors are introduced to products from many typical traditional craft villages of Hanoi such as Bat Trang Pottery Village (in Gia Lam District), Van Phuc Silk Village (in Ha Dong District), Phu Vinh Bamboo and Rattan Village (in Chuong My District), Ha Thai Lacquer Village (in Thuong Tin District), Son Dong Craft Village (in Hoai Duc District), horn combs from Ung Thuy Village (in Thuong Tin District) and Xuan La to he (toy figurines) Village (in Phu Xuyen District).

The festival also featured many attractive activities including an introduction to the production stages of products from several trade villages, a show featuring Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dresses) made from Van Phuc silk and jewellery from horns and inlaid pearls, and an exhibition on craft villages in Hanoi.
