The information was announced at a press brief held in HCM City yesterday, to inform the public of the festival’s agenda, which will be held from April 12-15 at the September 23 Park, in District 1.

According to the Deputy Director of HCM City Tourism Department, La Quoc Khanh, the 2018 event will be organised under the theme "Discovering Summer 2018."

Along with booths offering tourism vouchers with cheap tour prices, tourism stimulus programmes and conferences to improve the efficiency of online travel businesses will also take place.

The annual event will offer various cultural and sporting activities, such as don ca tai tu (southern amateur music) performances, dance sports and the “Vietnam’s Colours” art show.

It is expected to help the local tourism sector to stimulate travel in the summer, while creating favourable conditions for localities and enterprises to approach and introduce new tourist products and services to domestic and foreign tourists, especially in terms of the city’s market.

The event is scheduled for mid-April; however, beginning from the end of March, several activities within the framework of the festival have been hosted, including the semi-finals of a singing contest on the local tourism industry.

The festival is expected to attract around 400,000 visitors.
