After the opening ceremony, an art programme and a traditional culinary competition was held with the participation of teams from five districts where Khmer people are living, including Tri Ton, Tinh Bien, Thoai Son, Chau Thanh and Chau Phu.

The three-day fest also features a wide range of unique activities, such as mini competitions in volleyball and football, a cross-country run, tug of war, stick pushing and other folk games as well as an exhibition showcasing paintings and artifacts highlighting the lives of Khmer people in An Giang province.

The Cultural, Sports and Tourism Fest aims to preserve, honour and promote the traditional cultural values of Khmer people in An Giang province in particular and the southern region in general, as well as to improve the quality of spiritual lives for Khmer people.

The event also contributes to promoting the locality’s tourism potential to both domestic and international visitors.
