Curtain to be raised on Hue Festival 2020 on August 28

Thua Thien – Hue province will raise the curtain on its biennial 11th Hue Festival from August 28 to September 2, instead of April 1-6 as previously planned, announced the festival’s organising board on February 20.

According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Phan Ngoc Tho, the new rescheduling is long enough for the province to control and overcome the consequences of the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The organising board pledged that despite the adjustment, Hue Festival 2020 will still be held with rich content and high quality, deserving of an internationally-acclaimed culturally extravagant event.

To date, more than 20 international art troupes have registered to join the event, promising to provide festivalgoers with unique experiences and multi-coloured performances.

A wide range of activities will be held during the festival to honour traditional and contemporary cultural values of Vietnam while promoting Hue city’s tourism.
