Hanoi hosts festival to promote tourism and culinary culture

A festival to stimulate tourism and introduce culinary culture opened in Hanoi on April 16.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, and Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh affirmed that the festival aimed to promote the city's image as “safe - friendly - quality – attractive” destination.

The event is expected to provide good opportunities to promote tourism and culinary culture of Hanoi as well as cities and provinces across the country, he added.

The festival is scheduled to take place over three days, from April 16 to 18 at the King Ly Thai To area, at Nha Bat Giac (Octagon House), Le Thach street, Le Lai street and the Hanoi Children's Palace, in addition to common spaces, tourist booths and culinary spaces.

Specifically, the common space features miniatures of tourist destinations in Hanoi and provinces and cities as a check-in space for visitors, as well as private booths from other provinces and cities to promote tourism and local specialties. The tourist area introduces products, destinations and tours, as well as special offers on tours, hotels, air tickets.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi culinary space introduces some outstanding dishes and specialties of the capital such as Hanoi’s pho (noodle soup), cha ca (grilled fish), bun thang (rice vermicelli with chicken, egg and pork), and Hanoi’s coffee. The main stage area at Nha Bat Giac will also feature performance art activities, demonstrations of food processing techniques, and games to attract visitors.
