Ho Chi Minh City plans to welcome international visitors from December 2021

Specifically, in first phase, starting from December 2021, the city will pilot the welcoming of international tourists under package travel programmes, with a self-contained air and waterway system in selected areas and tourism service establishments.

The second phase, from January 2022, all qualified tour operators will be allowed to serve international tourists. During this period, visitors can participate in tourism programmes combining multiple destinations after completing the tour programme in Ho Chi Minh City within seven days; in the immediate future, the programme will connect Ho Chi Minh City with provinces and cities such as Kien Giang, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ninh, and may add some other localities going forward.

Phase 3 will see a full reopening to the international tourist market. The starting time will be based on the actual epidemic situation and on the evaluation of the results of welcoming international tourists in the first two phases.
